peace of art

Peace of Art is a fashion-design studio specialising in repainting and crafting beautiful garments carefully fitted to dolls.

Hello! My name is Karen, and I welcome you to my space.

The doll collecting started in 2008 when I accidentally came across one of k.s.h.’s repaints (you may very well know him by the name of “Ficon”),  searching Barbie stuff for my daughter.

She made me stop and look. I put it on my watch list but I felt drawn to her and eventually, I made the purchase. Without knowing full well what I was getting myself into…

She turned out large, to my surprise. Her beauty was nonetheless unprecedented.

An endlessly creative process began…

Robert Tonner and his collections, mostly the Tyler Wentworth line, have captured me ever since.
Mr. Tonner, you have been and are a seemingly endless source of creative energy; the class, the style, the timeless fashion, the grand variety of moulds and themes have enriched many peoples’ lives, including mine. Thank you!

One positive outcome of Robert Tonners doll lines was the coalescence of incredibly talented artists, who injected and influx of unique characters, thus, a new line of business was born; Repainting.

You will find that Repaints are where I laid my focus.

Since laces, beads, silks, crystals and perfectly dressed dolls have always tickled my fancy, I couldn’t help but experiment with sewing. The results can be seen here.

So, what are you waiting for? Come in and feast your eyes, and if not for the gowns, then for the dolls! Peruse to your hearts content.

All haute couture shown reside in a private collection.
